OLOPC
Aqaba organized a training
program about the rights of
persons with disabilities to the
local institutions and parents
of persons with disabilities.
Dr. Nabil Kharman Vice President
of Central Committee for Our
Lady of Peace Centre spoke on
the importance of those
workshops and the role they play
in raising the awareness and
capacities for the participants
from the Special Education
Centers and parents. He also
focused on Jordan's commitment
after signing the International
Convention for People with
Disabilities and lunching the
Law for People with Disabilities
Right, which is considered a
clear path to guarantee the
rights for this group.
This is
reflected in the OLOPC programs
and philosophy since 2001 in
supporting the rights of people
with disabilities through
awareness campaigns, training
workshops and public marches.
The training session included a
discussion of the rights of
persons with disabilities Act
No. 31 of 2007, the National
Strategy for Persons with
Disabilities, the International
Convention on the rights of
persons with disabilities, and
discussions between coaches and
parents of persons with
disabilities.
